Friday
I walk past three pop machines on my way to work. This may sound rather mundane, except that I only live five doors away from my office. That's life here in the big city. However, this morning, they were all empty or not working. Every single one. I couldn't get any caffeine at all - in fact, the one machine that was actually working was completely sold out...even the Tahitian Treat! You couldn't pay me enough to drink that stuff, but evidently someone was really jonesin' for it. Na-asty.Do you see my hump? It's busted. I've been busting it here at work ever since last week. Hopefully things will return to an even keel next week. Also, I hope to be a proud DSL user at my home next week. The phone service got switched over yesterday afternoon, and I should actually have a dialtone after work tonight. Luckily, I'll still have the same phone number, so all the punk-ass telemarketers can keep calling me.

Dog-ass slow I tell you! That's very slow.I have tons of stuff to do this weekend. Dummo stuff, TBCS stuff, cleaning my apartment stuff. I'm gonna be a hermit, but don't you worry, I'll still go out at night. Try and stop me. Sometime today, I'll become a new customer of TDS Metrocom and then Ameritech can suck it. And then, after TDS Metrocom tests my line for throughput quality (which I hope it passes...my building is pretty old and the phone lines may suck) then I should receive a shiny new DSL modem from UPS on Tuesday. Then I'll have DSL! To my house! From a company that won't be going out of business anytime soon! O happy day! Then I won't need girls. Yeah, right.

Blogger has been completely dog-ass slow lately, so updating has been a chore, believe you me.Not much special going on today. I should be home, but I'm not. I should be doing lots of things, but I'm not. Just kind of lazy today. I should have DSL early next week...that'll be sweet.

Yes, I'm bad. I know this. After not having Internet access here at work for two weeks, I was then very, very busy once it came back on. Here I am posting again, though. So you have that.I had a lovely Memorial Day weekend, and it ended with a lovely birthday party over at R and L's place for S, who is now 25 years young. It began to rain, and even though several of us were covered from head to toe in plastic garbage bags, we were still driven into the house. Later, the rain stopped, and we were able to sit around the fire and chat. It was a really nice way to end the long weekend.
